Saints Fall to Central Florida 80-61 in MFC Tournament Final
Ocala, FL – The College of Central Florida was at the top of their game on Tuesday evening in Ocala, taking it to the Saints early in their Mid-Florida Conference final match-up. With a spot in the FCSAA State Tournament on the line the Patriots came out of the gates on fire, building an early double digit lead at 14-4 eight minutes into the game, displaying suffocating defense and timely scoring ability.

Ocala, FL – The College of Central Florida was at the top of their game on Tuesday evening in Ocala, taking it to the Saints early in their Mid-Florida Conference final match-up. With a spot in the FCSAA State Tournament on the line the Patriots came out of the gates on fire, building an early double digit lead at 14-4 eight minutes into the game, displaying suffocating defense and timely scoring ability.
Santa Fe fought hard through the first half to get back in the game, but CF kept their distance and took a 37-19 lead into the break.
In the second half the Saints played much better offensively, scoring 42 points, but the Patriots kept pace with 43 over the final 20 minutes to finish off the 19 point win.
Allen Baez led Santa Fe scorers with 20 points, Morris Marshall had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Brandon Williams 11 points, and Jaquel Taft 10.
The Saints end their season with a 16-15 record. Central Florida will move on to play in the FCSAA State Tournament that they will host in March.
