Saints Notch Win at Home
The Saints coasted to victory on Tuesday, November 12 against Central Point Prep 99-61 with strong help from their bench.
Starting the game on a three-pointer, the Saints quickly went to work and only trailed one time – two minutes after tip-off. Central Pointe Prep tried several times to chip away at the lead throughout the first half and at one point got as close as nine points with less than five minutes left before halftime.
Once the second half began, the Saints continued to pile on the scoring and put distance between the two teams for good.
"It was a good win for our team tonight," said Saints head coach Chris Mowry. "We were able to play 10 players 14-27 minutes, and everyone played at least six minutes.
The Saints bench contributed 40 points on the night.
Mowry added, "We improved on the foul line and did a good job limiting turnovers. [We] still need to improve our three-point shooting percentage and do a better job on the defensive boards."
Earning a double-double for the Saints is Nikola Jerotic with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Yaw Obeng-Mensah had 12 points with eight rebounds while Dejuon Small contributed 11 points.
The Saints (3-1, 0-0 MFC) have a quick turnaround as they play tomorrow, Wednesday the 13th at home versus Webber University.
