Saints Lose Against Indian River
The Saints men's basketball team lost their first game of the Florida Colleges Men's Basketball Shootout at home against Indian River State College on Saturday, December 14 with a score of 71-56.
The first half was very competitive for both teams. The Saints were ahead 30-23 at the end of the first, but the Pioneers rallied for an impressive second half.
"We played well the first half but I give credit to Indian River who came out of the locker room with intensity for a great second showing," said Saints head coach Chris Mowry.
The Saints did not make it easy on themselves as turnovers plagued the team throughout the game.
"We can't have 27 turnovers and expect to win against hard-working teams," continued Mowry.
Leading scorer for the Saints was Josiah Tynes with 17 points. The only other double-digit scorer was Ryan Leonard with 13 points.
In their second tournament matchup, the Saints (6-7, 0-0 MFC) look to bounce back against Broward College at home at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 15.
