Santa Fe fell to 0-2 on the season with a 79-77 loss to MGCCC. The Saints held a five-point halftime lead, 39-34, before Gulf Coast used a 45-point second half to push to a late lead. 

Karmello Branch yet again led SF offensively with a 25-point afternoon, shooting 50% from the field. Ryan Webster and Predrag Panisic both added 11 points. The Saints won the game on the glass out rebounding MGCCC by 7. The Saints turned it over 22 times compared to just 14 for their opponent.

Branch not only led the team in points but dished out a team-leading six assists and tied for the team lead with eight rebounds.

Coach John Ritzdorf stated, "We competed for 40 minutes and had a chance to win it at the end against a very good Mississippi Gulf Coast team. Karmello had another good night for us. Although we competed and fought much better, we are still turning it over too much to beat good teams. Looking forward to a few practices and our first home game on Wednesday."

The Saints are in action on Wednesday, November 6th at 7:00 PM versus North Florida Prep.
