Bio

Brandon Buckman enters his first season as an Assistant Coach at Santa Fe College in September of 2023. Buckman was also named a National Basketball Association (NBA) Future Basketball Operations Star for the 2023-2024 season.

Prior to Santa Fe, Buckman spent the past two seasons as a student manager for the University of South Florida under Head Coach Brian Gregory. During his time in Tampa, Buckman played a role in the player development of four professionals, Javon Greene (Romania), Tyler Harris (Spain), Keyshawn Bryant (G-League), and Bayron Matos (Venezuela).

Prior to South Florida, Buckman spent one season as an assistant coach at J. W. Mitchell High School in New Port Richey, Florida, where he was involved in all aspects of the program.

Before coming to the Sunshine State, Buckman served as a manager for the University of Illinois at Springfield for the 2017-2018 season under Head Coach Bill Walker. During that time, the Prairie Stars would set the record for highest winning percentage and most wins in a season since joining NCAA DII and would see two players go on to become professionals Eddie Longmeyer and Gilwan Nelson (Dominican Republic).

Buckman, a native of Springfield, Illinois, attended basketball powerhouse Springfield Lanphier High School. He graduated from Santa Fe College with an Associate’s Degree in 2021, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of South Florida in 2023.

Brandon, and his wife Hayley, have been married for four years.
