Saints Sophomore Spotlight: Softball
Santa Fe Softball sends ten players to the next level
Gainesville, FL
Santa Fe Softball had 10 of their 11 total sophomore players sign to four-year institutions, the most of any sophomore class in Santa Fe Softball history.
Each sophomore played a unique role with the team as the Saints had their best season since 2013, achieving 37 wins and advancing to the FCSAA DI Softball Championship B Bracket Game. The Saints' success was not the result of one player; rather, it was their group chemistry and the leadership of veteran players that propelled them to such a strong season.
"We had such a special group of players this year; each of them brought something unique to our team and we are so proud of their accomplishments" says head coach Savanah Webster. "I am looking forward to seeing what they achieve next season and beyond in their careers!"
With double digit players signing to four-year schools, the Saints had plenty of talent on their roster which is a testament to Coach Webster and her staff's ability to find and develop players who know what it takes to play softball at a high level.
The 2025 class was the second group since 2009 group to send eight or more players to a four-year school, with multiple players this year signing at each of the NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, or NAIA levels.
