Baseball's Zeb Marquis Headed to Montreat College
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Outfielder Zeb Marquis of Santa Fe College Baseball has made a commitment to attend Montreat College in Montreat, N.C.
Marquis is from Gainesville and attended Gainesville High School, and just completed his third season with the Saints.
In 2022, Marquis appeared in 42 games and was more often than not stationed in center field. His speed and anticipation allowed him to make a number of incredible defensive plays, and he ranked second on the team in stolen bases with 17.
At the plate, he hit for a .295 average with 41 hits and 34 runs scored. He accounted for six doubles and two home runs, which helped him drive in 22 RBI for the Saints' cause.
Montreat College Baseball is coached by Jason Beck, who also serves as the Associate Director of Athletics at the NAIA institution. The Cavaliers currently hold a 33-26 mark overall and 13-17 record in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
Marquis is now the eighth baseball commitment to be announced on santafesaints.com, with the list available below. Stay tuned this summer as more four-year commitments are made throughout the SF Athletics department.
