#21 Eastern Florida defeats Saints At Home
Gainesville, FL- The Saints hosted the Titans at home Saturday afternoon. This is the second meeting between the Saints and the Titans this season. In the first meeting, the Titans defeated the Saints 97-52. The second meeting was much closer, but the Saints fell short 75-52. The Titans were led by sophomore Amelia Hassett, scoring 14 points. Leyah Houston led the Saints with a toal of 15 points in the game. The Saints dominated the 4th quarter scoring a total of 22 points while holding the Titans to only 13.
How It Happened:
It was a low scoring first quarter, but the Titans came out of the first quarter with a 13-9 lead. Joey Delancy and Leyah Houston put the Saints on the board during the first period (Delancy 5 points, Houston 4 points). Delancy hit a notable 3 pointer early in the game to put the Saints up 5-1. The Titans came back to take the lead, led by Amelia Hassett who scored 4 points.
With a number of key defensive stops and timely baskets, the Titans outscored the Saints 20-10 in the second quarter. Leyah Houston scored 5 out of the 10 points for the Saints. E'Zaria Adams led the Titans scoring 9 points in the second quarter (1 three pointer). Going into halftime, the score was 31-17.
The second half belonged to the Titans as the Saints struggled to put points on the board. At the end of the third quarter, the Titans had increased their lead to 62-30. In the fourth quarter, the Saints hit three 3 pointers to chip away at the lead. Even though the Saints outscored the Titans in the fourth quarter 22-12, the Titans refused to let down. The Saints came up short again against the Titans with a final score of 75-52.

"I saw some flashes that we can build upon. I saw of course quite a few things that need to be fixed, but all in all the young ladies competed and that is all I can ask for."
